IURC (International Urban and Regional Cooperation) is an EU program financed under the Partnership Instrument. It's jointly implemented by the Service for Foreign Policy Instruments and the Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy of the European Commission. The program aims to lead and develop decentralized international urban and regional cooperation. It unites cities and regions working together in the fields of sustainable urban development and innovation.
By bridging local administrations, businesses, civil society, and research institutions, IURC and its partners create a Global Network for regional innovation.
Eurocities, a network of more than 200 cities in 38 countries, is one of the partners of IURC. For the first IURC Annual Event, Eurocities needed to provide a reliable interpretation solution to unite stakeholders worldwide.

For the first International Urban and Regional Cooperation (IURC) Annual Event, the organizing stakeholder Eurocities needed an RSI provider that integrates with Hopin and provides interpretation to remote attendees.
During the first day of the event, IURC connected participants from 28 countries and communicated efficiently with partners across Europe, North America, Latin America, and Africa.
Having their own interpreter team, IURC looked for a solution that provides an easy-to-use platform for both their interpreters and event attendees.

Audio interpretation
IURC attendees received simultaneous interpretation in 3 languages right to their smartphones while virtually joining the event through Hopin.
Interpreter console
IURC interpreter team provided interpretation to participants via Interactio interpreter console, highlighting its user-friendliness and intuitive feel.
Communication materials
The Interactio team provided Eurocities with communication materials that helped IURC Annual Event attendees easily access the platform and use the Interactio audio app for interpretation.
